Gippsland PHN in partnership with Quit Victoria and the Latrobe Health Assembly are working together to find a solution to reduce smoking rates in Latrobe.
In 2017, the three organisations began rolling out a number of initiatives including community focus groups, GP educational sessions, Pitch to Quit and local information stalls to support the strategic planning of building a smoke-free Latrobe.
As part of this planning, Gippsland PHN is inviting anyone who works, lives and studies in Latrobe to attend an innovation workshop for a SmokeFree Latrobe. Anyone else with an interest in working towards a SmokeFree Latrobe is also very welcome to attend.
Date: Monday 29 October 2018
Venue: Morwell Bowling Club
This will be an interactive workshop, to find new, creative and innovative ideas to create a SmokeFree Latrobe. Using our local research, and a wide mix of people in the room, the workshop is an opportunity to brainstorm potential ideas to support current smokers to quit as part of the SmokeFree Latrobe Initiative. Everyone will have a different perspective, meaning everyone’s opinions, experiences and voices are equally valued.
The workshop is just one of the many planning activities being implemented across Gippsland which aims to support existing qualitative research and evidence-based planning.
