The Board of Gippsland Medicare Local (GML) today announces the appointment of Mr Peter Quigley to the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Making the announcement on behalf of the Board, Chair, Dr Nola Maxfield, said the appointment of Mr Quigley was a significant step forward for the organisation.
“Peter Quigley brings excellent credentials to GML having previously held senior executive roles with Latrobe City Council and Gippsland Water,” Dr Maxfield said.
“We believe he will be an innovative and pragmatic leader for GML as he brings significant executive experience in complex, dynamic environments in the public and private sector.”
Dr Maxfield said the Board and staff were looking forward to welcoming Mr Quigley on Monday 8 July, where he will begin a short handover period with GML’s interim CEO, Ms Val Callister.
“The next 12 months will again be a challenging time for our organisation and I’m very confident that Peter Quigley will lead our organisation confidently and professionally, so we grow our skills and capacity to deliver improved primary health care outcomes for our Gippsland community,” Dr Maxfield said.
“The Board of GML would also like to thank Ms Val Callister sincerely, for her stewardship as our interim Chief Executive over the past five months.
“Val has provided vital stability and leadership in this time, and we wish her every success in her future endeavours.”
