The Spotlight on hepatitis B is an annual workforce development initiative coordinated by the Victorian Hepatitis B Alliance (VHBA). Spotlight on hepatitis B aims to improve the treatment, management and care of people living with chronic hepatitis B.
World Hepatitis Day is on the 28th July, with the theme: Hepatitis Can’t Wait.

This year we will be delivering a series of four webinars – these webinar are tailored to the education and training need of:

  • People working with communities affected by hepatitis B
  • Health workers, midwives, community workers, clinicians
  • Policy makers and researchers
  • People living with hepatitis B and not working in these settings are warmly encouraged to attend


  • Session 1: Introducing hepatitis B: Everything you ever wanted to know, or hear again, about hepatitis B | Wednesday 21 July: 12-1pm, Virtual
  • Session 2: Towards hepatitis B cure: The latest on hepatitis B cure research, and what it means for people living with hepatitis B | Wednesday 28 July: 11.30 – 1 pm (World Hepatitis Day)

  • Session 3: Preventing mother to child transmission | Thursday 5 August: 12 – 1 pm, Virtual
  • Session 4: Hepatitis B in priority communities Tuesday | 10 August: 12 – 1pm, Virtual
