Workshop Outline

This training is interactive and will be delivered in an informal and fun environment. You will learn how to navigate your way around the POLAR GP Tool so you can extract data to assist in the day to day running of your practice as well as collating demographic and clinical data for accreditation.

Facilitator – Henry Yu

Henry Yu is the Coordinator for Digital Health for Gippsland PHN and has 10 years working in the Health and Technology Industry. Working in private, hospital and the primary care setting has given him a strong understanding of the Health system and the application of information technology systems in modern health care. He has a keen interest in utilising data for quality and patient care improvement and also in the application of Telehealth to increase access to health care, particularly in regional and rural settings.

He has undertaken projects in implementing and training of software in the Health environment and understands the importance of change management. Having successfully rolled out a Local Health District wide software platform across 100+ sites and supporting over 2,000 users.

Henry has a Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Science and a Masters in Public Health.
He has lived in Gippsland for the last two years, and loves the country friendliness, fresh air, and football.

Learning Outcomes

After doing this course you will be able to:

  • Understand the layout and functionality of the POLAR GP Tool
  • Understand the fundamentals of data quality and data cleansing
  • Apply multiple filters to conduct day to day and auditing activities.
